MESSAGE BY
H.E. AMBASSADOR/PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA
Welcome to the Home
Page of the Permanent Mission of Kenya to the United Nations in Geneva
This
website has been designed to provide readers with quick information about
the Mission, its activities as well as the necessary linkages with other
Government of Kenya Websites.
It is my hope
that it will be an invaluable source of information to Web surfers who
wish to know more about our activities and our country. It is our
intention that the Website will give an invaluable insight into our
interaction with more than twelve international organizations in Geneva
to which we are accredited. We also hope that it will provide
information on consular services to Kenyans and other nationals
intending to visit Kenya.
We intend to update
it regularly by, interalia, posting official statements by the Mission on
topical international issues as well as those by senior Government officials
reflecting our national policy.
Following the
democratic elections and a peaceful transition in December 2002, the new
Government, led by H. E. President Mwai Kibaki, has embarked on a path
towards eradication of poverty, the fight against corruption and the general
improvement of the welfare of the people. A wide range of administrative and
policy measures have been put in place to ensure the realization of these
objectives.
It is in this
spirit that we open this Home Page in the hope that we can be of service to
all our readers and all those who have an interest in our country.
We welcome any
constructive comments or suggestions with a view to improving the page.
Thank you, Asante Sana.
Prof. Maria Nzomo
